The club began in 1966 with 2 cars - a 1930 Ford and a 1926 T model Ford, and 5 members.
The club takes its name from the winged horse of greek mythology.

Pegasus was a flying horse in greek mythology. Pégasos means strong.

First Minutes

Minutes of the meeting held at the home of Mr. D. Bruce to form a 
Hot Rod Club on 28-2-66

Present: Andrew Counsill, Robert Freeman, Ken Smith, Keith Harman, 
Doug Bruce, Ian Simpson (apologies), John Wilson (apologies).

1. Resolved that those present are agreed to become foundation members of 
a hot rod club, carried
2. Resolved that the club be called the "Pegasus Rod and Custom Club",
carried
